OUR LITTLE EARLY BIRD
Sorry for such a huge delay in posting. We have been great and we love getting to know our little Johnny. He's really sweet and really fun to cuddle with. Johnny is a good baby but is certainly more of a challenge than Jacob. I think the longer they have to bake the better off they are when they come out. However, Johnny was healthy baby boy and we are more than thrilled that he came early to see us. He's become a really great eater and already weighs around 10 pounds! Can you believe it?! At his two week appointment he had gained 23 ounces since he left the hospital. He may exceed Jacob before long! :) We have had lots of friends help out as well as family. Our amazing cell group and other friends were able to provide meals for the first five weeks. It was a huge blessing to not have to worry about meals at all. This is my first week to be back in the kitchen and I know it's going to be an interesting balance to tend to the boys and get a healthy dinner on the table that is not something frozen from a box! I'll let you know how it goes.
I am feeling good and have bounced back from this pregnancy/delivery so much better than the last time. I will share more about our story and labor etc. soon but I have to say I absolutely loved going drug free on this one. It made a huge difference and was great for someone like me who loves to control things. Of course there was pain, but I was in control. Awesome.
Well here is what you really care about. How about some pictures?!
Three generation's of O'Quinn boys! This was when Johnny was about a week old.
The 4th of July with Great Grandmommy Betty. My grandfather Johnny would have been proud!
I have to give a huge shout out to my mother-in-law who stayed with us and helped out for a whole week! I really needed the help after Johnny was born and my parents had a vacation planned so they were unable to help right after the baby came. It was a huge blessing. She helped out with Jacob and Johnny especially when he was nursing every three hours during the night. We love you!!! Come back at any time :)
This was taken on his due date.
Sweet Sweet Baby. One month old!
Jacob loves to give his brother lots and lots of kisses and hugs. It's difficult at times since he is always wanting to be near him and hold him. I don't know if I've mentioned this before or not, but Jacob is extremely tender hearted and he is amazing already as a brother. It makes my heart swell with pride witnessing the love in his heart for his little brother.
Well hello there.
Johnny loves to be swaddled. He is a much different baby from Jacob. I could lay out a blanket and lay Jacob down and he would stretch out for a long time. Johnny loves to be held and he loves to be swaddled. There is quite a difference between 37 weeks and 41.
Cousins picture. My sisters family has been visiting from Africa for the last 5 weeks. They leave on Tuesday and we are sad to see them go. We had so much fun with Emma and Clara and getting to catch up with my sister M'Liss and brother Clint.
Aunt Traci and cousins Audrey and Zach came for a visit on Saturday. Zach didn't make the picture.
Well, I'd better go. My oldest child is watching way too much television as I type this. Blessings.
