My Boy

I sure do love my Boy. There is nothing better than coming home from the office and watching him run to my arms.

We took a picture of him a few weeks ago asleep at the dinner wheel. It was funny. I also like the picture of he and I with our lawn mowers. He uses his more than I use mine.

As Time Goes By...

Wow. Jacob has been growing and changing so much lately. He is going to turn 14 months on the 25th and he's really hit some milestones that just crack me up. He talks A LOT! It amazes me how much his vocabulary has expanded. Last night he started saying bath time. It was really cute. He is also saying all done, brush, and birdie. He says "doo" for drink, which has made understanding requests a lot easier. He has discoverd the function of talking on the phone as well, so everytime it rings he thinks it's Jason and he'll say da da. He is also finding it fun to pretend that anything is a phone that he can hold up to his ear. Most of the time it's his remote and he'll walk around the room babbling away. Jacob has no clue the entertainment he provides. Since I've missed telling you all about a lot of Jacob's milestones I guess I can fill you in a little bit.

1. He started walking exclusively about a week before his first birthday in April. He had been taking a few steps here and there but really took to walking about a week before. Now he just runs. Seriously....runs.

2. He's cutting his 6th tooth. The incisors are horrible. Lot's of fever and fussiness.

3. I told you about his words, but his favorite is da da. He absolutley adores Jason and has a fit when he leaves in the morning for work. He just loves to love on him and play with him. It's a lot of fun to watch.

4. His 12 month check up was at the end of April. Jacob was in the 3rd pertentile for height, 8th for weight, and 25th for head, he's such a little dude but full of spunk!!!!

5. Jacob loves going outside to play and has become quite the hit with the neighborhood kids. He often stands at the back door crying to go into the backyard. I'm getting a great tan.

6. We switched to the sippy cup. It was not as easy as I thought it would be, but the bottle was getting old and he was treating it more like a toy. I think I tried 5 or 6 different cups before he finally took one. He really likes the cups with the straws, but they leak and I can't stand them. At least he's using a cup though.

That's about it. Not a lot of things, or ones that I am not thinking of off the top of my head. Anyway, all is well with us. We are planning a vacation to Taos in July. This will be our first long roadtrip with Jacob so it should be interesting. We are all really excited to get out of the city for awhile and be in some fresh cool air. Petra is moving to a new office space on July 1 which is really exciting. We are going to have a lot more space and Jason will finally have an office with a window. If you've ever had an office without one, then you really understand that.

Any suggestions on good movies to see in the theater? Jason and I are actually going to go see one this Saturday. The last movie we saw together in the theater was The Pursuit of Happyness back in December. It's been awhile and there are so many summer movies out I don't even know where to start. I love movies but Jason could care less about the experience. I used to go to the movies by myself all the time. There is just something about getting there early, finding the perfect seat, eating a bag of popcorn, watching all of the previews, and then enjoying the movie. It's such a fun experience. Most of the time I feel totally out of touch with what is going on in the movies, when I used to know everything. So, as you can see Saturday is really important to me. Any guidance offered would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I will leave you all with some pictures of the muchkin...
