FOUR MORE YEARS!!!

Today Jason and I celebrate our four year wedding anniversary. It seems like just the other day that we were getting ready for our wedding, and the town of Abilene was in the midst of a flood. It was absolute insanity! It rained everyday for over a week prior to the day of our wedding. Being that Abilene seldom experiences much rainfall, it relies on it’s creeks to manage excess water rather than a real drainage system. Brilliance! I headed to the church to get ready around 3:00, and at 3:30 the neighborhood I was living in was being evacuated! My parents were a nervous wreck through the wedding and the reception wondering what they would come back to find after it all. Thankfully the water never hit the house (my grandparent’s house), and we have fond memories and fun stories to share from that day.

It’s amazing to me how so many things have changed since the day we got married. The most obvious being that we are now a family rather than a couple, but what I am referring to is much deeper than that. I’ve heard the phrase, “I never thought I could love my spouse more than I did on the day we married’, and when I first heard that I was not married myself. This statement always gave me something to look forward to and made me prayerful that I would experience that same kind of love this person was talking about. Now I can say that I have. In the midst of four years A LOT of things have changed, but it’s my love for Jason that has surprised me the most. It’s true, I love him so much more than I did on the day we married and I have no doubt that four more years of marriage to Jason will bring even more love to my heart.

Jason, I’m honored to be your wife and stand beside you and support you. Each day I have the pleasure to witness you in your finest moments, and I’m reminded why I fell in love with you. I love you because you are a man of integrity, romance, humor, spontaneity, faith, diligence, honor, grace, love, compassion, leadership, humility, talent, empathy, and so much more. I thank God for you and promise that I will work to continue to uphold what we vowed together on this day four years ago. I love you with all of my heart.

We vow to honor God whole-heartedly, while honoring one another with hearts of love, purpose, and commitment. To have a spirit of forgiveness and understanding that respects each other and most importantly our Heavenly Father. We recognize God as our stronghold, and we dedicate our lives to prayerful service to Him, striving to grow our marriage and our family in a household of faith. We will work to develop an unparalleled emotional and spiritual relationship that is based on trust, compassion, honesty and most importantly prayer.

O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

Jason is blessed beyond words to have found himself a faithful, loving, honorable wife. My grandson, Jake, is blessed to be the son of a devoted mother and father.
Ilove you all more than words can say.
Being the mother of a son is an answer to a prayer I prayed each day. Jason is my gift and Jake is yours.
